Each session includes psychological, social and theological focus on a material we go through together, a short video, discussion times in small groups, reflection and prayer time. It covers topics such as understanding mental health and illness, challenging stigma, the recovery journey, companionship, self-care, and the role of community in mental health recovery and support.
Our desire is to be a church family that cares deeply for each other, the Sanctuary course offers a unique opportunity for us to grow in this. It runs for eight weeks, which allows time to share and discuss with each other, help build a culture of acceptance, and encourage us to grow in being a church that welcomes and supports each other with mental health challenges.
