Leading Worship Course

CCL Leading Worship Session 1Starting Thursday 1 November at 7.30pm in Cornerstone, Denton Street (large meeting room upstairs)

This course (using material produced by Cumbria Christian Learning) aims to develop an awareness of what is involved in leading and creating an act of worship and provides a basic framework, structure, skills and tools that can be used. This course is for those who are interested in leading worship in church, or exploring the possibility of leading worship.

Session 1 explores the theological foundations of worship, what is worship and why do we do it
Session 2 looks at the shape and structure of worship, thinking of worship as a journey.
Session 3 focuses on the role of the worship leader and how to lead worship well, and the resources available to a worship leader.
Session 4 looks at planning an act of worship. It is then hoped that between Session 4 and 5 participants would have the opportunity to plan and lead an act of worship in church.
Session 5 would provide an opportunity for people to review their experiences of leading worship, and how they can continue to grow and develop as a worship leader.
