What are the services like?
First, you can expect a warm welcome. You will receive a Notice/Information Sheet together with a printed service sheet. However everything is also projected onto our two large screens located at the front of church.
Every service includes prayer, praise, Bible reading and systematic Bible teaching.
At Denton Holme, any restless youngsters can take their parents into the welcome area at the back of the church, where they can get a drink, play with toys and, of course, use the loo. It also has speakers to relay the service, so Mum and Dad won’t miss anything.
You will notice that we do not pass round any offering plates or bags; our regular members help to support church financially (either by bank order or in the offering plates at the back of church), but we do not expect visitors to contribute.
Sunday morning at Denton Holme is our main service of family worship and is a lively time of praise for all the family. The music is made up of worship songs, children’s songs and some traditional hymns, and is led by our superb Music Group. Our service starts at 10.30am with everyone meeting together in church. Just before 11.00am our youngsters move over to our adjacent Parish Centre to take part in their own activities in our Sunday Club. The sermon is given by a variety of speakers; clergy, lay-readers or visiting speakers. We also hold regular All Age Services, as well as Baptism or Thanksgiving services and Holy Communion. Refreshments are served in church at the end of the service.
Sunday evening at Denton Holme is similar to a morning service, but with no children’s programme. We often spend time sharing things to be thankful for and asking for prayer. After the service we meet together for refreshments.
