Introduction
St James has always been a mission minded church, seeking to share the good news of Jesus with the community and beyond. Since the 1930s we have continuously supported link missionaries overseas starting with what was then known as Rwanda Mission. In 1998 it was decided to set up a mission committee with a budget of 10% of our unrestricted income and so we now support as a church the following societies and individuals:
Tearfund – an evangelical Christian development and relief organisation.
Garry Ion - with CMS in Uganda and Southern Sudan.
Peter Maiden – International Director of Operation Mobilisation (OM), a Christian mission organisation working in over 100 countries.
The Kepplewray Trust – a Christian charity promoting the integration and inclusion of disabled people into all the opportunities of life alongside able bodied people.
Lucy Goldie – teaching nursery children on Logos Hope, an OM ship taking knowledge, help and hope to the people of the world.
Tim Cottingham – working in Romania with Networks, serving the poorest of the poor.
Stuart Clear – Information Services Manager on board the Africa Mercy hospital ship.
