Welcome to our new look website. Please bear with us while we continue to update the site.
St. James' is a lively, bible-based, family church (Church of England).
Our aim is to introduce people in the parish to Jesus Christ and then to encourage them to grow in their faith.
Organisations and activities cover all ages, from babies to senior citizens.
There are two services each Sunday, at 10.30 am and 6.30 pm with a more traditional midweek service once each month (usually the last Thursday in the month at 11.30 am - check the Service Details for exact date). There is also a full programme of weekly activities.
You are welcome to any and all of our services!
We aim to be...
Faithful
To God, especially in obedience to his revealed word of scripture, but also in his name to one another and to our community, and in our use of our time and resources.
“Well done, good and faithful servant!” (as in Matthew 25 verse 21).
Fruitful
In personal Christian discipleship and growth.
In our individual and corporate witness, producing growth in others.
“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” (John 15 verse 8).
Friendly
Distinctively so! Welcoming and accessible to all. We exist that others might know. Becoming, with Paul: “ all things to all men so that by all possible means (we) might save some” (1 Corinthians 9 verse 22).
