Over the last few weeks that as a group we have not been able to say much about what is happening, but there is lots to be thankful for. There have been ongoing discussions over some of the final details with contractors and architects, which for some of the group has meant a busy time with various meetings and details to consider. Atkinsons, our Contractors, are moving onto site on 31st October.
God has faithfully provided money for the project, with a large chunk of the funding coming from a legacy to the Church with a part payment of some £100,000 already received. As a group we are extremely excited about the prospect of appointing a Manager/Missioner. Please pray for the interviews taking place this month.
When the building work starts, much of the focus of the Group will turn to plans for next year. This will include the appointment of a Manager/Missioner as well as continuing to look at further mission and ministry ideas, whilst trying to remain faithful to our early plans of being able to respond to community needs.
We will continue looking at the extra funding needed to get the centre built and the ongoing business plan. This will kick off later this month with a Charity Auction night on 19th November (see page xx for more details) and our annual Gift Day on 20th November. Of the total funds required of around £400,000, much of this has been raised through giving by the congregation, the substantial legacy mentioned earlier and the expected sale of the Curatage to the Diocese. However, to allow completion, the level of fixtures and fittings needed, the first year’s funding of the Manager/Missioner and a reasonable contingency, we estimate a further £100,000 is required which we expect to raise half externally, mainly through grants, and half internally. We are also offering people the chance to give regularly to the Cornerstone project from January.
As a group we would like to thank you all for your continued prayer and support, and now that everything is starting to happen, we hope and pray that your excitement and passion for the project will continue to grow.

Building work started on the Cornerstone premises on Denton st this morning. Scaffolding is being erected as part of the demolition process. We praise God that this part of the project has started and continue to pray for safety for the Builders as they start the demolition work.
